Leather Care Guide

START WITH THE MATERIAL

Briury offers genuine leather and vegan leather products.

Always check the material stated on the product page before cleaning, protecting or conditioning your item.

GENUINE LEATHER

• Remove surface dust with a clean, soft and dry cloth.

• Blot moisture immediately. Do not rub wet marks.

• Allow leather to dry naturally away from radiators, hairdryers and direct sunlight.

• Use a leather-specific cleaner or conditioner sparingly.

• Test every cleaning or conditioning product on a hidden area first.

• Avoid contact with perfume, oil, hand sanitiser, ink and harsh chemicals.

• Do not overfill leather bags, as this can affect their shape.

• Store bags upright and lightly filled with clean tissue paper.

• Use a breathable dust bag instead of sealed plastic.

• Use shoe trees for leather footwear and allow shoes to rest between wears.

VEGAN LEATHER

• Wipe gently with a soft, damp microfibre cloth.

• Use a small amount of mild soap only when necessary.

• Do not use leather oils, waxes, strong solvents or alcohol-based cleaners.

• Dry naturally away from heat and strong sunlight.

• Avoid folding, crushing or overfilling the product during storage.

• Store in a dry and ventilated place.

SUEDE AND NUBUCK

Suede, nubuck and similar finishes require specialist care.

Use a soft suede brush and products specifically designed for the stated finish. Avoid ordinary leather creams and excessive water.

For difficult stains, consult a professional cleaner.

METAL HARDWARE

Clean buckles, zips and other metal hardware with a soft, dry cloth.

Avoid abrasive polish and chemical cleaners, as these can damage the finish or surrounding material.

WATER AND RAIN

Leather and vegan leather products are not completely waterproof unless the product description specifically says otherwise.

If the item becomes wet:

  1. Remove excess moisture gently.

  2. Maintain the item’s natural shape.

  3. Allow it to dry at room temperature.

  4. Never use direct heat.

STORAGE

• Store products away from direct sunlight.

• Keep them in a cool and dry environment.

• Do not stack heavy items on top of bags or shoes.

• Avoid sealed plastic storage.

• Allow products to air before long-term storage.
